“Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life.”

“It was important for us to create a calm, inclusive, aesthetic space with a friendly and accessible display. The artworks were sorted and arranged into clear categories that simplify the selection process.
When it comes to integrating art into the overall interior design of a home, this is the most challenging stage — the one that distinguishes one house from another.
After the purposeful collection at the Hangar (furniture, household items, decorative objects, lighting, etc.), the selection of artworks becomes a kind of ‘synergistic glue for the soul.’ We strive to combine the practical and the spiritual in a way that creates a harmonious, cohesive, and visually pleasant environment — a space that expresses the identity and individuality of the people who live there.
Art has an incredible ability to evoke emotions and influence the mood of a space. The desired atmosphere is derived from a combination of elements such as color choice, style, subject matter, placement, and more.
Interior design that incorporates art allows people to express their personality, taste, history, and the atmosphere they hope will prevail in their home. This individual expression transforms a space from just a house into a true home.
I came to volunteer at the Home Front about two months after it was founded. My intention was to help as a family escort, but in practice, from the very first moment and until today, I was drawn into volunteering in the Art Gallery.
Since I am an artist myself and come from the field of therapy, I was happy to bring the meaning inherent in the diverse toolbox I have accumulated.
Families, and the volunteers who accompany them, arrive at the gallery floor carrying the complexity of their life circumstances. Often they are already overwhelmed and exhausted, so their emotional availability to choose artwork that truly speaks to them is very limited.
I am present in the gallery and try to help gently, through exploratory questions:
Do they want my help?
Do they have any sense of what they hope to find (style, size, color palette, subject, etc.)?
And, most importantly what would lift their spirits right now, even if only temporarily?
More often than not, these encounters become deeply moving and unforgettable. The more people are willing to pause and allow themselves to engage, the more a dialogue is created that helps meet their needs and desires.
I am grateful both for the privilege and for the pride of belonging to the ‘Hangar Family’ — a community made up of special and talented people who choose, in a very tangible way, to take on meaningful social responsibility.”

“The Home Front Hangar is, for me, an island of quiet and calm within the delusional reality we are living in. A place that gives me the feeling that even “little me” can influence and create change.
To be a small part of a huge initiative, and yet feel that I have a tremendous impact — and the privilege to do good and enter the hearts of people in my nation who need my help too.
To be part of a big, special, warm, and slightly crazy family that wraps you in such a huge heart that it’s simply a joy to be with.
The Home Front is my heart.”
